Had a total of nine boats in the water fishing for redfish.

Started the day with a SE wind and chill in the air. Some participants were wearing wind breaks. Others were in bermuda's and short sleeved shirts.

First place for the longest redfish was Sean "capsbaker" Baker fishing with redfin and fastguy George. It was 33.5" and weighed 13-4 on the digital scales, released to fight again. I had the camera with me and tried to get a picture but it told me "Low Batteries" and wouldn't come on. So I changed to what I thought was freshly charged batteries and the camera wouldn't even give me a low batteries message - it just wouldn't come on. Then the digital scales were acting up, so I hauled out the newer set and it worked great.

Second place went to Rusty Nelson fishing with his dad John and Kerry Neal. His fish was 28".

Third place went to Texas Sage (Andy). His fish was 27.5" long.

There was one other redfish caught in John Nelson's (Z71) boat. Many gaspergoo and a slew of magnum sandies were caught by several boats but the redfish just didn't feel like cooperating today.

Thanks to Tgil and Fred, Proline19 and son Adger, John Nelson and son Rusty and Kerry Neal, Texas Sage and Shirley, Sasquatch and brother Laurance, Stephen Smith and Kevin Cox, RBadley and his 2 nephews, Lindy Kelly and Steve Rod, and last but not least, capsbaker and fastguy for making the trip to Tradinghouse for a day of fishing. It was tough but everyone hung in there like the troopers they are hoping the redfish would turn on.

Anyone who had taken any pictures, please post them.

It was really great to meet and talk with you all and the fish will definitely be in a more cooperative mood next year. This was a highly unusual redfish bite for this time of year.

Thanks again all of you for making the trip to Tradinghouse.

Jim, thanks for putting up with me for 2 days at Tradinghouse. We covered a lot of water, changed set-ups quite a few times and removed a lot of grass from the DD 14's. I learned a lot about fishing for redfish, I just didn't get to apply any of it. The fish Sean caught really impressed me with its fight.
Thanks again and next time I will set the clicker.

George

I've been wondering how the Roundup went. I know you guys had a blast. It was fun the times I went over there w/Shadbury and DLee and fished w/you guys. Redfin knows that lake.

Congrats Capt. Baker and Jim!

Ya, my 2 nephews and I couldnt keep the freshwater drum (gaspergoo) off the hooks. We tried live bait fishing and trolling during the day. We only boated drum though, but it was alot of fun anyways. It was a great day too on the water.

Fishing started kinda slow but we did boat our share of gasps and giant sandies/whites.

We boated 2 really healthy Reds. Had several good hits and lost a couple of reds.

I always want to fish just a little longer but man I was tired by the time we got home.

This was a special day for Rusty (John Jr.) and myself. Thanks again to everyone that made this happen a special thanks to Jim (Redfin)... fish
and thanks to Kerry for joining us...we had a great time.

I put the names of the participants in a hat and drew one -

Lindy (posted as quality time)

Please contact XYZ via PM with your physical address so he can send you the tackle system.

Thanks again Armando, the gift prize is appreciated.

I've sent you both a PM.

Jim,
As always you put together a fun event! flehan flehan flehan Thanks for all of the time and prep you donate to putting these things together. We didn't boat a red, but the magnum sandies always make the trip worth it! woot
Z71,
It was great to see you and Rusty back on the water again and that redfish magnet boat of yours always seems to attract the fish.
We ran a little late getting there, so if there was any meet and greet before hand, sorry we missed it. I did get to speak to the couple in the "La Paloma" as we were getting off of the water though. Don't know who they were, but they had managed one red.
Again, thanks Jim!

David, maybe you're daughter will ask you to take her fishing for her birthday when she gets older...that's the real fun of fishing!

Jim, Shirley and I had a great time. We enjoyed meeting all the people that attended and we hope to see them next year. Your instructions to the ramp were right on or we wouldn't have found our way to the event in time to participate. We appreciate your hard work puting this event together. Once more Thank You!

Thanks for the great pictures, Andy! I will carry an 8-pack of AA batteries with me in the boat from now on and not depend on re-chargeable batteries anymore.

It was great talking with you and Shirley and the rest of the participants. It was indeed a great fishing day!
