Let me save everyone a trip to Lake Gilmer. The gates at both ramps have been closed / locked until further notice. The City of Gilmer is reporting the lake's level is being dropped four to five feet for spillway repairs.

Don't know about the repairs, but I'm wondering how long will it take Mother Nature to get the lake's level back up?

Yeah my buddy posted several pics on FB of all the hazards that people normally run over the top of and probably never knew were there!

I work for the city of gilmer, guess I could of made a post on here  . I'll try to update when the lake opens back up. But for now I do have a key to the gates 😂
