Yup. It sucks. The Dunlap ramp is 10 minutes from my driveway. The dewatering will substantially affect property values along the lake. I’ve heard talk of 40%-50% impacts, but only time will tell. One of my biggest Texas bass came out of Dunlap, so I’ve been bummed since the dam there failed.

Is Mcqueeny the lake I have seen discussed on here before that is a public lake that basically the locals have taken over and blocked off all public access too??? If so I would rather see it drained than 1 cent of my tax dollars used for repair.

Public assess been shut down for a long time....all money needs to come from private land owners. Here is their chance to pony up some money. If even a $1 comes from public funding then they should not be able to deny access to the public, that goes for any lake in the state of Texas. Hate to say it but Karma is a B!tch.

McQueeny is the only private lake without public access. Dunlap, Placid, and Meadow do. I am unsure of Gonzales. There have been free boat ramps on these lakes as long as I can remember. McQueeny may be in a tough spot to raise the funding......

If they are private lakes then they should have to pay to have them fixed.

Without the dams wont the river flood worse? Isnt that the point of each placement? No effect on floods, water only has to come up a foot or two to go over the top of the dams. Dams were constructed for electrical generation only.

In the gulf....
Most will be caught up in kayak/jetboat accessible areas downstream.
