Y’all Carolina rig yellow Magic’s? I catch them good on a pink buzz bait, Carolina rigged. I’m not sure who made the one I use, but it has floats on it, it really comes to life in 25’ water in the hot summer months

If you can get the a bait through them the bigger fish are below.

Ain’t a Yellow Magic a floater? How do you get below anything with that bait? Haha.

a long leader tied to a 1/16th oz road runner to the back treble hook of the topwater plug. works better with more buoyant plugs like a chug bug though.

Hydrilla seems to be gone again, we caught ours on frogs, and tx rig in the hay grass. Hay grass is everywhere and the fish were really shallow. Launched at cassels boykin ramp, canyons didn't produce at all, ran towards caney. We went to Veach and Harvey on the way back, same results. Tried cranking but just caught white bass lol.

Not sure on the buzz bait dragging however Bass are bighting frogs, flukes shallow and Carolina rig or Texas rig deep, with schools of Bass and whites in the middle.

Going to drive down and fish all day a drive home that night. Not looking for specific spots but good info to create a good day of fishing on my birthday would be awesome. By the way I will be 72 and still love fishing ! And if you can send me to a nice place to eat near that boat ramp That would be super nice Thanks

I live there on occasion and for fishing, launching and eating ... Powell Park is hard to beat, Broaddus Dairy Mart food is the best, but the Powell Park burger is good too. I love the fishing around Powell Park. From Tyler to Lufkin exit Hwy 103 (head North), just past Attoyac bridge right on FM 1277 then right on Hwy 147(Braoddus), left on Hwy 83 (watch for the sign), right on Hwy 705 turn left at the sign for Powell Park.
