My local lake is patrolled heavily during the day up to 5 pm. They do a good job and assume most all game warden duties while patrolling. However, after 5pm they exit the lake and it shows by the behavior of those on the lake.

Reading about the no wake thing got me to thinking. I have been out bank fishing in the late afternoon on Lewisville the last several weekends in Pilot Knoll Park on the far West side of Lewisville.
Every time about 3/4 of the boats coming into the ramp blast past the no wake signs at almost full speed. They weave through a gaggle of teens on rental SUPs (without lights or flags after sunset, of course no PFDs), slam their last beers as their old lady backs down the truck and then hit the road at what I guess might be over .08.
I must have fished that area from the bank and my kayak 200 times in the last 5 years. Number of times I have seen a game warden? ZERO.
Its the wild wild west! There’s not enough police or whatever to patrol all the idiots on Lewisville....

At Squaw I'm not sure about the no wake zones but WAWI does a good job patrolling the boat ramp. Squaw is a private lake, I still don't know why the GW goes there, makes no sense to me. Are bag and length limits not enforced by the state there, does Luminant enforce them? For some odd reason the Game Warden is on a private lake, I have not figured out how that works. Luminant controls who goes on the lake, when it is opened, when you can launch, etc, but for some odd reason I hear the GW will patrol the lake, never got that one figured out.

IIRC, the Squaw Creek Reservoir is a public resource. The controlling authority for the lake structures and surrounding area is Luminant. Nevermind, maybe the fish are the public resource. Our tax dollars paid to stock it.

My home lake is Rayburn. It is patrolled pretty heavily by the GWs especially on holidays. I used to get checked maybe once every 5 years and I’ve been checked 4 times in last year. I don’t mind getting checked because I am always compliant and maybe they can keep the crazies in check!
