Keep in mind that Fork is in 3 counties so there can be a whole lot of patrolling going on at times. I thought Fork was only in Wood and Rains County. What's the third? Woods, Rains & Hopkins counties

I'm on Lake Arlington a lot and over the past 7 years I've only ever seen a game warden out there 2 times. +1 I've fished it for 10 years only been checked once ever! I even reported poaching and waited 4hrs no warden even showed up... really depressing

Lewisville is crazy.... I see boats out in the lake at night with no lights on what so ever.. And it burns me up when I see all the people leaving huge wakes in no wake areas.. Most of those areas are around boat ramps and I hate leaving my boat fearing it will get washed off the bank before I can get my trailer in to load up... The biggest culprits of this in my opinion is the people renting water craft.. The people they rent from arent explaining anything about water safety to them... Was heading out this morning and there was a guy on a main lake point with no lights on at all. Luckily there was another boat near him with lights on. LL in the summer is a challenge on a good day. At least the rental companies have been informed they can't block the courtesy docks. They were leaving the rental boats parked on the courtesy docks earlier in the summer.
This space for rent

Remember the GW they are state police and sometimes they help out local law enforcement. They have a tuff job and can't be every place all the time. My son into going to law enforcement and wants to be a game warden. It is a hard job to get.. It's not that hard if you a minority or a female. It hard for a white male due to their quota system getting into Game Warden Academy. If you son is a white male he would be best served working for some small county as a police officer first to get some LEO experience and that will help. Only issue he will probably on make about 12 to 13 per hour doing that.

At Squaw I'm not sure about the no wake zones but WAWI does a good job patrolling the boat ramp. Squaw is a private lake, I still don't know why the GW goes there, makes no sense to me.

I had Flower Mound Police department on Jet skis check my fishing licenses years ago on Lake Grapevine. Seems like a waste of time to me or maybe he was jealous I don't understand why he wouldn't let the GW do his job and stay out their business..
I found it quite odd he only checked me for a fishing license.

If the game wardens patroled more, the title of this thread would be: Game Warden harassed me!

If the game wardens patroled more, the title of this thread would be: Game Warden harassed me! Probably because a GW can interrupt your day without probable cause. I have NEVER been pulled over by a patrol car just so they can see if I have a valid license. Or to see if I have a seat belt available for each possible occupant. Or to have my registration sticker “approved” and that I have ALL my documentation IN THE CAR. Yeh. A Game Warden visit usually is deemed a hassle, and all that is required for a “visit” is be on the water. I guess being a boat owner is “probable cause”?

I had a boat load of grandkids with me at Lake Fork on July 3rd. I had two game wardens pull up behind me at the 515 bridge. They could see that I had a lot of rods on deck but all the kids had life jackets on so they didn't even ask for my license. They were both very friendly and helpful. Two young guys. First time ever stopped on Fork
