If Im wrong Im sorry but I dont think hes allowed to do that. They dont own any of the water. Dock, items, land yes.... but not the water. I would call Game Wardens and have them get involved. There is a lady on Ray Hubbard that will come down and harass you but Ive dealt with her enough she doesnt even bother me anymore. Is it the lady in the south end of that lake? And she doesnt even have a dock?

Maybe it's just my imagination, but it seems to me over the last couple of years dock owners have become more anti-fishermen. The first thing I noticed was how many of them turn off their dock lights and underwater lights at night.
A lot of them seem to think lakes are big swimming pools. There shouldn't be any vegetation because it makes the water in the pool yucky.

maybe they turn their lights off that they purchased not to have folks around their docks at night when they are not there.

And maybe they'd enjoy assessing their damage while talking to the LEOs after the accident. And a few days later, talking to attorney of the family whose now-deceased teenage son or daughter ran their wave-runner into the propeller of the boat hanging in their unlighted dock.
The lights on docks aren't for attracting baitfish and fishermen. They're for protecting the users of the lake, all of them.
Just sayin'...

You have to remember who you are dealing with. People from that part of the state are entitled. My brother owned a lot on the Llano arm. I am sure he can tell you some stories about neighbors.

Dock owners don’t have to have lights. They’re not responsible for people hitting their propeller at night. They don’t turn them off to prevent fishermen from fishing them. They turn them off so they don’t prematurely burn out the lights and they turn them off so they don’t have to pay more on an electric bill.
No conspiracy here.
Some of y’all are no different than the opinionated dock owners themselves. Lol.

As a homeowner on LBJ, the number 1 reason i don't leave my dock lights on is spiders and the black spider goo that drops on my boat. Over the 7+ years, i have been on LBJ, I fish the lake hard and have never had an issue with a homeowner and i had only one issue with a Bass fisherman and that was because i watched the guy throw a cigarette bud in the water right in front of me.
I used to keep a green underwater light out every night but i think too many fisherman caught the cord with their hooks and it eventually shorted out.
Now, the biggest issue facing LBJ right now is the lack of Grass and whether it will eventually return.

If you have a dock on Richland Chambers it must have a light on it or they will fine you.

If you have a dock on Richland Chambers it must have a light on it or they will fine you. Key word “A” light. Not a runway, not a fishing light, not a plethora of lights. A light. To know there is a dock there, a light is placed SOMEWHERE on the dock. It doesn’t have to illuminate the whole dock or even the dock itself. It just has to be visible from the water. Kinda like your anchor light ain’t exactly a fishing light. More of a boat mounted bug attractor that’s visible to others.

Thanks, Hookem. Seems pretty obvious, from page 6 of the LCRA rulebook, that there must be a light on from sunset to sunrise on any dock on the Highland Lakes chain. All the docks on Lake Austin, to my knowledge, have lights. The docks in my cove on Lake Travis all have lights.
