For those who don't know, you can carry in YOUR vehicle (or boat) without a LTC if the firearm is concealed and you aren't otherwise prohibited from possessing it, with some stipulations. See Chapter 46 of the Texas Penal Code. Again, if you qualify for a LTC, go ahead and get it. Texas has knocked $100 off the cost; it's certainly affordable. We (Texas LTC holders) need the loudest voice we can get in Austin to protect our rights. The more voters we can boast, the more juice we have.

Nah...pretty sure you need a permit.

For the record, my money is on Jim Ford in this one.

I think you and Jim might need to recalibrate your sarcasm meters in relation to Dans posts (look at the post he was originally responding to). But Mr. Ford did post some important information.

Now Bob. You and Jim both know that permits are required for shooting folks. Now back in the day maybe you could just shoot all willy nilly. Me? I follow the laws and you gotta have that permit. If you need a permit to take a Redfish why not to take a man? Same with a deer and so on.

Now I needs both of yous to stop trying to skirt the laws and get on board with making sure your permits are all up to date and in order before you go out busting caps ok?

If you have a handgun license from a state that has a reciprocal agreement with Texas, that license is good in Texas. Before Nevada changed their laws and recognized Texas licenses, I had an Arizona license so I could be legal in Nevada. Texas recognized Arizona, and Nevada recognized Arizona. Before I did the on line Arizona license, I contacted DPS and made sure it was legal to hold another states license. The online license are not as easy as it sounds. The range qualification must be done by an approved handgun training facility and copies of the range and instructor qualification certificates must be sent with application.

There's a squad in D.C. that would be a good place to start.

You really want to post something like that on a public forum?
