I love knowing there are other minimalists out there and it's not just me.

I fully accept, though, that if you are meant, by personality, to carry 6 or more rods, and feel "naked" if you don't carry out about six 3600 Plano boxes, then you should do it that way. Whatever feels best, and gets you on the water.

I'll be on Lake Athens around 6 PM, so in 1.5 hours. I'll carry either one or two rods and very little tackle.

A second rod? Yes, that's a lot for me. Ha! I am thinking about throwing a silver Mepps Inline spinner into schooling bass to see what happens.

Brad

This would be fun. One rod, three lures and three hours. Two titles... big fish and most fish. The winner gets bragging rights for 30 days! cheers

That works for me. I'm in, but I'll need to substitute 2 lures for a tub of wormies. roflmao

Jet, are you going out tomorrow? I'm free all day and I'm going to go somewhere, just haven't decided where yet.

I have been doing good at Joe Pool. And Lake Bridgeport.

Can someone else help out Gamedawg?
Let's get him on the fish.

I usually take 3. 2 casting one spinning. I've taken 4 out many times and it is too many. I rarely use the third rod.

Two spinning combos. One light set up with 6 lb mono, usually use it to toss a small crank bait, Kassmaster or #3 Mepps Agila. One medium set up with 10 lb mono, usually with a 5" Senko, weightless either Texas or Wacky rigged.

One medium casting combo. 12 lb mono, usually a deep diving crankbait or lipless crankbait. I don't remember the last time I actually took it out of the rod holder.

I carry a three large Plano Boxes- one of deep cranks, one of lipless cranks, one of small cranks. A bag of soft plastic. Two small boxes one of in line spinners, one of Kassmaster spoons.

I almost always use nothing but the same small crank and the weightless Senko.

Basically I carry a ton of junk...but fish like a minimalist. bang

I may be different but I hate wasting time tying on a different lure. I don't carry a lot of tackle, other than a decent assortment of plastics. I have six to seven rods this time of year. 2 will have top water baits (frog and torpedo), 1 with a Texas rig, 1 with a spinner bait, 1 with a crank bait, and 1 with a fluke. The seventh will have some type of a jig. I don't know if this is good but it works for me. I peddle a 2019 Hobie outback and my rods are in rod holders I mounted to a cooler that sits right behind my seat. Keeps everything close and easy to swap.
