Usually from late May on through the summer we catch them good on deep crankbaits and football jigs.

Pretty much a full blown post spawn deal going on down here but youll always have your stragglers and main lake spawners. We have managed to still catch some troughout the day but you gotta work for your bites right now. Seems like the shad are starting to show up more often on our cb hooks and following spinnerbait blades so they are getting closer to spawning. That should make fishing sooo much better. The lake seems to be holding steady at 251/2 feet low and water temps are in the low 70s. Catching most our fish on spinnerbaits, soft plastics and medium running crankbaits. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/03/full-98576-4474-deaaee52_d645_4f24_acd4_2ab02892fcc8.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/03/full-98576-4475-3101f241_55a3_4716_885e_e1dfb1a46db5.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/03/full-98576-4476-8359457d_23ab_4ea2_aea2_428365152a98.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/03/full-98576-4477-dc66fb9b_3838_492d_965c_866f9c0b6fc4.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/03/full-98576-4478-5f473819_0294_4594_aac0_f705165591fe.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/03/full-98576-4479-61b3de0d_8cde_457b_95c7_ac6647b17f3f.png)

Ive been off a couple of weeks and got back out the other day and took out Philip and Oscar Saturday. The fishing is pretty steady and numbers in the 30-50 range are about standard. The lake is holding steady and that has the fish shallow and still in the backs of the creeks for the most part. You can catch them flipping, throwing a swimbait, on a jerk minnow and small crankbaits pretty good. The shad spawn is just around the corner and the squarebill bite should get crazy pretty soon. I just had May 7,8,9,10 open up, those are prime dates for lake falcon and Im sure they wont last long. If youve been thinking about coming down that would be a great time. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/04/full-98576-8243-dc3515cf_f0a0_438c_a10b_b7c31e03b4c1.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/04/full-98576-8244-f35e06a1_6ac4_4d5b_a560_f0c252078bd0.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/04/full-98576-8245-d6c2d92a_5e6c_4163_870e_7ad0e3243bd7.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/04/full-98576-8246-e790b14b_9c6a_4dd5_988b_6002ec4e2436.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/04/full-98576-8247-56c8a0e2_343e_4884_8948_20c13803d08b.png)

The shad spawn is underway down here and catching 60+ fish in a day is not too hard when the wind doesnt blow 25. The lake has fallen a little bit not too bad and we are at around 26 ft low. Squarebills, swimbaits and big bite jerk minnows are catching most of the fish on shallow rocky points and banks. Plenty of open days in June, fishing will be good!! ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/04/full-98576-9652-1e336019_c219_45c9_8c60_c299b5781199.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/04/full-98576-9653-13712b6c_d080_4a3e_baeb_73d33f14e452.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/04/full-98576-9654-54cf2df9_90fc_45c7_8d8b_0c59f857bee9.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/04/full-98576-9655-8066fd47_eb19_4f77_bc6c_6f6474b50d40.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/04/full-98576-9656-2465b856_042d_4f3f_bcea_341963cd2171.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/04/full-98576-9657-71df31a8_c2a0_4c5f_a2be_9ef8f75be45c.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/04/full-98576-9658-f15494f7_da50_4e52_b2e0_212d1574c5ae.png)

Had Heath and Laun out for a day and we had good numbers and a few nice ones. They stayed and fished on their own the next day and Laun found himself a Lake Falcon DD. Way to go Laun. The fish seem to be kinda transitioning as we are are starting to catch some out a little deeper on big bite jig heads and fighting frogs. You can still find plenty of smaller fish shallow chasing shad with the occasional big one mixed in. The lake level was on a pretty good fall but has slowed with the latest rains. We are at around 27 1/2 foot low. I have plenty of June dates open and June is a fun month, with the fish getting deeper and the heat not too bad. Call me for dates and trip info, thanks, Jimmy. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/05/full-98576-11245-68e433d8_b3e5_4257_ac13_2a9aafa167b3.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/05/full-98576-11246-91f9e096_0ebf_4612_be1b_59b53fd070b6.png)

Ok so add May to the craziness, the lakes now on a rise. The better fish still seem to be deeper but it looks like there are fish getting shallow again when that bite seemed to be slowing down. Go figure. Anyway like I said any fish over 6 lbs has been in 16-18ft for my customers. Looks like you just got to keep bouncing from shallow to deep. Med crankbaits, 5 inch tricksticks are catching most of our shallow fish while big bite jig heads with fighting frogs are catching most out deep. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/05/full-98576-12338-9d2381ca_dcf5_470d_982e_07d2a204884f.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/05/full-98576-12339-75feb548_18a9_4652_902a_7f5b86d81573.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/05/full-98576-12340-fe6ea04e_83ef_4150_b848_f89453ba0de5.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/05/full-98576-12341-fed6e511_2088_4694_8be7_a494a60bdb3c.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/05/full-98576-12342-d4abcef4_101e_4379_9029_34d48db665d2.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/05/full-98576-12343-edce3d2d_5dec_4981_9dde_966c5b56fde9.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/05/full-98576-12344-1c7aebcc_f63b_4274_a53d_91a07cf1cafc.png)

Well they pulled the plug it seems like, the lake is on the fall. I hate to see it but with the rains we had they are actually a little behind. The only positive about the lake level drop, if there can be one, is that the fish are BITING!! I finished up a 21/2 day trip with Les from big bite baits and his daughter Kayla and they had an awesome trip. We had over 100 fish with 25 lb bags all three days and shoulda had 34-35 lbs on our last day which we only fished til 1130. Shallow running crankbaits, big bite pro swimmers and big bite fighting frogs caught all of our fish. Most were in less than 5 ft on rock. With the lake drop I doubt they will be that shallow for vey much longer but thats where they are now. We had been catching our bigger fish deeper but the last part of last week some really nice ones started showing up shallow again. I have plenty of open dates available, call for trip info. Thanks, Jimmy. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/06/full-98576-13906-552983b4_15b5_4822_9924_e7a84087d553.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/06/full-98576-13907-4f0549c4_de03_4256_9b02_8fd2d44c9300.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/06/full-98576-13908-7dd00ab9_b9aa_4405_8873_cf44714fe936.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/06/full-98576-13909-573ba862_7eba_4645_a02d_813aec79290b.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/06/full-98576-13910-c05f19d7_f065_4873_b835_318a99d9e952.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/06/full-98576-13911-1735c8e2_c7ad_4ab0_a029_f41865edd846.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/06/full-98576-13912-2259c88d_de0c_486a_a63f_3b556b10b45b.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/06/full-98576-13913-9e8fdb21_e016_486d_86fc_e4125579168b.png)

You can still catch some shallow, most of the bag me and Charlie weighed on sat was shallow(24 .10 lbs good enough for second,24.57 won) but there is definitely a deep water shift going on. All our big bites today with Juan were in 18-20ft. The lake is 31 ft low and falling. I have a bunch of July dates open, call me for trip info. Thanks, Jimmy. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/06/full-98576-16234-c9ea2926_ae0c_472b_a1c3_28a41eda6f95.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/06/full-98576-16235-c4900fb0_3b9f_42d4_af3d_f14fa38f1f09.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/06/full-98576-16237-82bd9058_775f_4cd7_a5f6_efcb2b461bfc.png)

Hell I will be heading down to falcon this Sunday. This will be the first time I take my own boat out for a trip without a guide, any recommendations for spots or what to use?

First day with James and Hank was great. We had 34-35 lbs on five with a shot at 42 plus. The lakes on a slow fall, waters hot and summer patterns are kicking in. We caught most our fish in 20 ft with big bite fighting frogs. Plenty of open dates, call for trip info. Thanks, Jimmy. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/06/full-98576-16581-758e494c_97a2_420b_aec9_b814c9f2c34a.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/06/full-98576-16582-a232ca13_63b3_4f57_9f73_548e31b92c54.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/06/full-98576-16583-23c14e38_fb43_4788_9be5_e2b54c995198.png)

Im not gonna lie its spicy out right now but the fishing continues to be good. I got to spend a couple of hrs on the lake today with my son Madison, which seems to happen not as often as Id like, and we found a couple of nice ones. The lake seems to be holding steady again and we are at 31 ft low. We caught most of our fish in 20ft on 1/2 jigs with a big bite fightin frog and trick sticks. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/07/full-98576-18033-06cbe593_f4ce_475e_a097_0d927ec52ea9.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/07/full-98576-18034-9cbec1b4_3a60_4f3e_88b4_7c9c133801f2.png) Julys kinda full but I have plenty of August dates open. The last couple of weeks have had the lake and the fishing up and down. Weve had some great days and some you had to really grind it out. The lake seems to be on a steady fall now and it really has improved the bite, theres almost no lake tougher in my opinion than Falcon on a rise, to a point then once it stabilizes its awesome but it looks like we dont have to worry about that for now. Most of our fish are still coming fairly deep in 18-20 on t-rigged big bite fightin frogs. I have plenty of August dates available, lets go fishing!! ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/08/full-98576-20292-db9d3004_dda8_4485_ae98_22a8bd52d4a2.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/08/full-98576-20293-d57903c1_3bb0_40ad_8cf3_0ac40bca685d.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/08/full-98576-20294-01d09176_d913_4c30_93f2_8b66a3defaba.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/08/full-98576-20295-bb5da6df_39a9_437f_9c03_994f903795fa.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/08/full-98576-20296-a45af0a5_32d3_452a_b709_4f0fb11355d6.png)

Still falling. We are at 35 ft low and the fishing is pretty good but you have to work for them. Every trip is still giving customers shots at a fish of a lifetime, landing them is a different story. Still fishing 18-20ft on 1/2 oz Shakey heads and t rigs. Call for trip info, thanks jimmy. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/08/full-98576-21531-2386cd39_fd30_4981_bd37_e2bb0eaae003.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/08/full-98576-21532-dffcdc89_90eb_41de_9efc_0c17823bb405.png)
