Leave it up to GM to come up with something like this. I'm sure y'all have seen the new tailgate General Motors is SO proud of. Spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on ads promoting it. One design flaw I see....If you have a hitch in your receiver (most of us do) when using the tailgate as a step it will hit the hitch and leave a big ole dent in the tailgate.  ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/05/full-111612-11683-1.jpg)

Mark the tailgate where it hits the hitch. Use 3inch holesaw and cutout area. Fixed!! JK

I actually like the idea of having a step, but that's it. Everything else is stupid, especially the extra speaker system....because it's so hard to roll down your windows.

My framer has already crushed two tailgates hauling lumber on his F250.

Just take the hitch off and stow it. Problem solved. I carry a cheap fold out step ladder in the back of my truck. Much easier solution.
