Here is my keto experience so far. And I started keto on Jan 6th of this year. As some background, I do blood work 4 times a year to watch over certain things for a prescription and I have had done this for over 3 years. So I have a fantastic baseline for all my blood work.

I went this past Wednesday for my required blood workup and asked for the works on everything and got the results today. Here are the important ones.

AST (Liver enzyme) used to be mid 40s, which is mid normal. Now it is 30.

ALT (Liver enzyme) used to be 68 ( high barely normal) now 30.

Overall testosterone went from low 500 to 840.

Overall cholesterol was 174

HDL and LDL were good which is better than it was.

A1C of 5.0 percent

I was told I can cut my blood pressure meds in half which is the lowest dose available.

As a side benefit I have lost almost 30lbs and feel fantastic.

All of these changes have taking place quickly.

Try reading this book. These 2 doctors have been at this for over 30 years, they know what they are talking about. You will be amazed at the information in this book, a great read as well with lots of good recipes.

Take a look at their web site, lots of good reading! https://proteinpower.com/

Cheers cheers

Bob I'm not intimately familiar with Nutrisystem but anything you can do to improve your eating must be good.

Bottom line, to lose weight you need to store less calories. In the simplest terms: eat less, move more.

Many people have found multiple benefits from a LCHF (Low Carb, High Fat), or Keto, diet.

Why most diets fail is because we feel hungry when cutting back calories. One of the benefits of LCHF or Keto, is that we feel less hungry and therefore eat less.

Here are some good sources of information:

Books:
Keto Clarity by Jimmy Moore and Dr Eric Westman
Wheat Belly by cardiologist Dr William Davis
The Big Fat Surprise by Nina Teicholz
Why We Get Fat by Gary Taubes

YouTube:

Those are my words to anyone when they ask how I stay slim.
Those words are usually answered with "but I stay busy from the time I get up until time for bed".
I try to explain that for most of us staying busy doesn't burn enough calories.
What works for me is getting my heart rate up and keeping it up for at least 20 minutes every day.
When you make smart food choices and begin pushing away the plate before you're stuffed you can easily maintain a healthy weight.

Very true, that is the cool thing about this Nutrisystem deal as well. We don't feel hungry. The hard part I think will be coming up with regular food that is weighted similar in proteins, carbs, etc. as the plan formulated meals. I despise the thought of recipes and cooking and going to analyzing every food item before eating it. Eating is a bothersome chore to me.

According to what I just read concerning a Male's Ultimate food plan, which includes frozen desserts and shakes......it would cost ya $460.80 per month for chow. If you weren't on this diet, how much a month does it cost you to eat ? Just you, not your whole family.

Loved Nutrisystem. Lost 35 lbs. Liked the meals and snacks. No longer exclusively on it, but it changed my eating habits for the better, i.e. portion size etc.

Awesome. The meals and snacks are not bad really. The variety is awesome. I love not having to think about preparing any food, just go rummage around the freezer or pantry and pick out something. 35 lbs. is real good.
