 Is the spawn over and done?

Fished three days last week and two this week and not so much as a bite from a crappie. Have they gone back to deeper water?

Depends on where you are. Up here in north Texas we�ve got a solid 2 weeks left and will usually have spawners until mid May. Probably the cold fronts and rain messed them up.

Depends on where you are. I think we are halfway done in dfw with some fish in all stages.

Definitely not finished but not all fish spawn in shallow water. Im catching my fish on Fork in 15-20� water 2-12� deep. Many are spawning on deep timber.

Caught some today in about 18" of water.....East Texas

Some of it hasn't even started yet.
The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

I stopped after work today and fished off of the bank of a small lake here in North East Texas for about an hour and caught 4. Two males and two females. One of the females still had eggs.
