Hello, Gentleman.
For several years I have mainly fly fished. I love chasing bluegill and other sunfish on ultralight fly equipment but I have recently outfitted myself and the misses with a couple of ultralight spinning reels.
We each have two ultralights, one paired with 4 lbs test and the other 2lbs test a piece.
On conventional tackle I've always used live bait for panfish.
So trying to outfit our tacklebox with some productive lures for panfish, mainly bluegill type and not so much crappie.
I got some 1" mister twister grubs with some 1/64 jig heads. A few of those micro divers as well.
I was wondering what you experts use in the way of artificials? Also where do I find what you are using?

I just about always use live worms as bait for the sunfish! I fish with several anglers who use nothing but artificial baits and lures. It seems that the Rooster Tails are the lures of choice and are very common in a lot of tackle boxes. As for colors Chartreuse/Black,White, and Silver seem to be the colors that I see them using the most. Hopefully the anglers who use lures and artificial baits will respond.  Side Note: When I do use artificial baits it is usually the Gulp Alive Products and jigs, Chartreuse/Black or Chartreuse/Pink as the colors. Hopefully we will see some future post and catches.

I use Berkley gulp alive 1" minnows on drop shot with small size 8 hook or 1/64th jig head. Also Berkley gulp wax worms in chartreuse rigged drop shot. I like the wax worms because you get a lot in each jar & all it takes is one piece sometimes. I just started using panther martin 1/32oz spinners in all silver (deluxe silver). All lures I get are from Amazon usually but can be purchased at cabelas/basspro & walmart. Sometimes I get silver 1/64th jig heads from the fly fishing section of cabelas. Of course nightcrawler pieces are my go to bait before lures.

I use nothing but artificial baits and lures while fishing for pan fish. I also use a fly rod. As for lures I keep small Rooster Tails,Rapala Crank Baits, Bitsy Minnows,and a wide variety of soft plastics and jigs. Best colors for me are White,Chartreuse,Pink,Black, Green, Red, and Silver. A jar of Gulp Alive Minnows on a drop shot rig with a size 8 hook works great also. I have two Ultralight Rigs set up. One with six pound test line and the other with four pound test line. Nothing beats catching sunfish/pan fish year around on ultralight tackle.  Side Note: Let us know how you do. Love reading post from different areas and water bodies.

Rebel Critter baits are a must. 1/64 oz jigs are good, but you may find casting 1/32 and 1/16 a bit easier. Especially if you need to fish deeper than a couple feet. I am a big fan of 2� Hot Grubs and 1.5�-2� triple tail grubs. In smaller waters (creeks, smaller rivers, ponds, etc..) I like split tail grubs, soft plastic craws and small double tail grubs. They usually make me fish slower, but the latter two don�t get hung up as much. When on new water or trying to find fish, a jig&spin (think Bettle Spin) or a 1/16 jig with a 2� or so paddle tail will normally make sunfish reveal themselves.
Unfortunately, your best bet to get all of this stuff is online now. Can�t find it in stores like we used to be able to. Lurenet.com is a great place to start.
