They were banned from the tournament for either 2 or 3 years for stuff that happened under his watch, and they have never forgiven him. As far as I know he personally was never implicated but his assistants were. Kentucky basketball is one of the true blue bloods, it won't ever be said that they officially black balled him but there is no other explanation. He had a bout with drug and alcohol dependency also but his basketball coaching abilities have never been questioned. I've never heard a kid he coached say anything but great things about him.
