Had a great hamburger at Nancy's Cafe in Paris last week for lunch. An old cafe serving breakfast and lunch. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked great and obviously a long-standing bunch of customers. Three blocks north of the square on N. Main St.

Good a place as any for my 1st post. I spend 2 years after college up near Wichita Falls. Their were more local burger joints up there than any place i've been. Gene's Tasty Burger, Ronnie's, Stanley's, Pat's, Glass Kitchen... Not sure if they are all still there, but all were good. My personal fav was Ronnie's.

Coyote Bluff in Amarillo. Great place to stop if you're headed through to Colorado or New Mexico. Oh, and get the green chile cheese fries...

Storms in Hamilton Langford grocery in Houston Herds in Jacksboro Hole in the wall (can't remember the town, but west of DFW)
The all-time best was Lita's in cowtown. Fried in a cast iron skillet and you could write your name in the grease on the walls. She had been there for years. Unfortunately, she past.

Langford Grocery in Houston is very good. Hubcap Grill in downtown Houston is also very good. I worked downtown for many years so we just walked. It's not worth driving in downtown Houston for any food, even if it was free. Can not believe someone hasn't mentioned Keller's on NW Hwy. OMG, that #5 special and a cold Bud on Sadadee night still makes my mouth water. It's a Texas icon.

If you are ever on 154 on the way from Quitman to Gilmer give Swanners a try. Just as you get into Gilmer. Also East Texas Burger Company in Mineola is pretty good too!
