I've always been told there was an agreement between the Brookshire's people and HEB not you expand into each other's territory. However, that agreement seems to no longer exist.

The HEB in Lufkin is mediocre, at best. Old building, cluttered aisles, and bad layout. We are supposed to get a new on here in Nac and I hope it lives up to expectations. Not even mediocre. If it wasnt for that place being the only one that sells our dags favorite sausages, we would t shop there at all, and I am an HEB guy.

We went to the one in Granbury some time back, we liked it, but CM is where it's at I think HEB owns CM.

They are priced way too high. My favorites are: Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market, Aldi, HEB, Brookshire's, Albertson's, Kroger, and then Tom Thumb.

HEB is a great company to work for too, they will pay for your college while working there. They have multiple ranches/lodges/retreats around this area for the employees to use for day use or with reservations. They are some kind of geniuses with what they have accomplished.

When I lived in Lubbock, they had was a Market Street. That place was pretty legit. Ive never been to an HEB. I wish they wouldve put one in down the street, Neighborhood Walmart sucks.

There is an HEB in corpus so big you will get tired walking around in it. They even sell furniture like Walmart. They got lots of good groceries. HEB is the best.
When I lived in Corpus there was an HEB and Whataburger on every corner.
Thanks, Billy

By far the best grocery stores in the state. +1. I've never seen so much stuff to choose from. Example: 75 types of cheese in 3 different places in the same store, crazy

HEB is working its way into the dallas metromess area more but it is hard with all the other companies there. When they went into the Houston area they lost money for years until one of the big hurricanes. HEB had a disaster recovery team on its way before the storm was over with loads of trucks with fuel, ice, water, and a mobile pharmacy and they started working before red cross or fema or any other organization could get there. The people of Houston remembered that and HEB was able to make a profit at their stores and then expand into it further. They will be big up north soon.

Love HEB! I'll gladly drive past Kroger's and everything else to shop there.
We just got a Market Street here and I'm not terribly impressed. MUCH more expensive than it should be. Although I did get amused at a couple things.
#1 has anybody spotted the Safeway / Tom Thumb / Randall's house brand Lucerne in there? Even though it is albertson's answer to Central Market (Which is good, but still makes my cheap gene scream) they bought out the Tom Thumb chain.
#2 Their "Not S&H green stamps" stickers. SEE! They're not green stamps! They're red! And they're stickers! No more licking!
#3 Paper bags? Serious honest to goodness paper bags! OMFG. Wonders never cease.

I can give you more places to eat than you could go to in a month of Sundays and be half the price that they're asking.
