The HEB and Fiesta bakeries in the larger stores are unbeatable

We drive from Weatherford to the HEB in Burleson and cannot wait for the one in Willow Park to open soon.

I went to HEB on the way out of Austin Sunday morning. HEB I stopped at is one of the bigger stores. After seeing what they had in produce and especially bakery areas I am convinced that Kroger is paying them to stay out of Dallas, Collin, and Rockwall counties. Bakery just blows Kroger away. I have inside info and can tell you thats not it What's the inside info then? My guess is that Central Market's have a higher profit margin so they'd rather keep building Central Market's. I've also heard when they expanded into Houston it wasn't a smooth experience and it took the Houston HEB stores a while to become profitable and they don't want to go through that again. I live in Plano and actually drive down to Waxahachie every once and a while to stock up on some of the non-perishable HEB branded items because I honestly like them better than the brand names I can get at Tom Thumb or Kroger.

To the Tom Thumb shopper I quit shopping TT in Rockwall when Alberstons bought them. I did go there for a while after they first opened but Kroger is more convenient and better prices.

The wife and I love HEB's brand of "pod" coffee, especially their Texas Pecan and San Antonio blends. There's not a store close to us, but we "mail order" a case or two every couple of months.

HEB has been buying properties all around the DFW metromess.
Can't wait for them to break ground and open.

I dont really think its something I should say here. HEB is the largest employer in the state of Texas and the DFW market would be well served by them. They do more for our state and country than just about any other business I know of.

HEB is great as long as you are happy eating HEB brand foods.
Snowflakes and entitled brats will be the doom of America!

H-E-B is the largest private employer in the state. Not THE largest. They're headquartered in San Antonio and they're building more stores in Mexico than they are here.
Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

If not, with what you know, do you think HEB will eventually end up in DFW or are we stuck with Central Market forever?
