On lakes like Bachman or White Rock or even the Vine, ones with rowing clubs. You know those long boats filled with people who row those 20 foot long oars while a guy with a mega phone yells at them to "Push through with your legs!!", "Feel the water under while you stroke!!", "Ok girls almost there, feel that burn and bring it home strong!" etc.
If I am wanting to fish some open water anchored up in my kayak, do they have a lane or right of away that I need to stay out of? Or should they be able to make slight course adjustment and avoid my position?
Are there rules on this for WRL or Bachman?

Everybody knows that they (the rowers) own the water on those lakes

Sorry I can't help you with your question but "wow" you have that chant down. My personal opinion is that you would have as much right to be there but there is probably some understanding on the lake that they row through that area so they are given right of way. Especially since they go in a straight line pretty fast.

Call your local Parks and Wildlife or Game Warden and ask them about the lanes. Always best to go into a fight with a loaded gun.

Public water is just that PUBLIC. Your just as intended to be there as they are. Buy like stated, call GW and get verification from the ones enforcing the laws.

I believe a power boat has to give way to a rowed boat if underway. I don't think that you have to move if not under power or anchored up. Unless there is an official marked course and the lake patrol or game warden says that water is closed to all other boat traffic. If that is not the cas tell them to take their little yankee boats back to Harvard and Yale and row there.
Retirement best job ever.

Or...since you are in a very mobile kayak you could just move for a second, let them pass, and go back to fishing.
See you on the lake and have a great day!

I believe he is thinking about anchoring on a spot
I experienced this on Bachman. Anchored off one of the two good points on the lake The rowers row with their backs facing the direction they are heading Blew my whistle loudly multiple times as they approached and they just barely adjusted their path in time, just grazed my kayak. Could have been a bad outcome (they dont wear or carry floatation on board)

Just do like all the other BA's on here, when they get close chunk a football jig at them as a warning.

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

Pretty sure the boat under power is the giveaway boat, but I would not trust that the other party knows this. If I were a yaker I would make sure I was out of the way.

Knowing that lake if you make an issue of it they will simply ban kayaks.
Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.
