The one you can shoot the best. I️ cant shoot a double action worth a darn, so all I️ carry are 1911s. Prefer 38 super but occasionally carry 10mm & .45

Thank you for everyone's advice and comments. Since I have several revolvers, I've decided to stay with that platform. I am buying the Ruger LCRx .38spl 3" barrel w/ a Sticky LG-4 holster. I shot it today and the recoil is something I will need to practice with, but I wanted more than a snubnose for better accuracy in a 15yard shot. I was nowhere near the target with the 1.87" barrel LCR. I'm not bad with the 3", but practice will make it even better. It's not the perfect carry gun for most people, but it will be for me. Buying from grabagun.com, and thanks Billyboy for that suggestion. They have the best price that I found anywhere....and I can pick it up and save FFL fee.
Again, I appreciate all comments. I'm signed up for my LTC class for next week, so I'm finally on my way. I should've done it a long time ago, but I just hope now that I never have to use it.
Good carrying!

remember the golden rule of concealed carry/open carry, if you pull and point you better be ready to shoot.
holding the bad guy for the leo sounds good but when the nut cuttin comes the fact is the bad guy WILL SHOOT YOU if you hesitate.
practice triple tap, one is fine, two is good and three will put just about anyone down.

I like the LCR quite a bit; great trigger and very concealable pocket carry

Sticky holsters are pretty darn handy. My dad carries his 1911 in one and has been very happy with it.

Always shoot until the threat is stopped. Or they stop a wiggling.

Using your criteria the answer is a .38 pistol.

Good carrying! Good deal Tom glad to help bud.. Lake Fork Firearms, right near my house on 515, has a great LTC class. Lance Vick is the instructor, he's an awesome guy... Plus we could, crappie fish down south on Fork, or run over to Monti....
