Not to get too far off subject, I have one of those hanging placards in my car, but you'll only see it when my son is with me(he's the disabled one). I see a lot of people abusing those handicap hang tags. That`s the way I feel when people park in the Handicap parking space with no placCard and regular plates.

Accountability of personal actions. Non-existent Me, Me, Me attitude; see social media, I have looked in my rear mirror on numerous occasions at the stop light watching people pose for "selfies". Not including those texting in traffic at 60mph+.
I'm assuming Mr. Ford is in law enforcement. I've spent 25 years in education, 21 as an administrator. I will say that lack of accountability has been a staple of family values during that time. Use to be a handful of kids that had parents that thought their kid did no wrong. Now its a handful that accept their kids aren't perfect. In other words, fruit doesn't fall far, and you reap what you sow:)
At one point society took care of these issues and didn't burden law enforcement with the little things. Now you can't look at someone wrong w/o getting sued. I'm sorry but an [censored]-whipping is a good thing every now and then.

Agreed. And if its that way now, what will the future hold? Better grab hold of something and hang on.

A few years back, I pulled into the Runaway Bay Marina from the lake. There was a guy doing donuts in a dragboat, inside the protected cove, from one "No Wake" marker to another.
I took a good picture of his TX numbers, he roared over "[censored] are you doing?". I said "turning you in". He pulled alongside of me, mad as hell.
He said something along the lines of "I'll kick your ***!" I picked up my boat paddle and said " Come on aboard and I'll bust your head open"
He retreated, I turned over the pic to our GW, She got him and arrested him for warrants.
Don't see too much of that stuff, but when I do it is some real stupidity!

The cove mentioned in the previous post may be the same cove that I was in when I saw my boat banging against the dock.

I was launching on Grapevine at the end of Dove Rd. one year and some morons on jet skis were running around in the cove well inside the bouys doing what they do. Almost put my boat on top of the dock. I called them over and explained the meaning of the bouys. They actually apologized. It totally shocked me because I was all geared up for a show down. They totally lacked common sense and had no idea they were breaking the law. I explained to them that they are financially responsible for any damage caused by their wake. Got the deer in the headlights look.

Some no wake zones aren't marked. For instance leaving tower bay on lake lewisville there is an obvious area where you shouldn't wake, and most people know that put then past it are buoys marking hazards, but no where in there is there a no wake buoy. its common sense.

This is the new America. It's all about ME and you are out of line to object to my lack of respect for you and your property. It's my right to do whatever I want, and to be free of criticism from or accountability to whomever I choose to trample over. Yep

Heh heh heh...... A little off topic but kind of on point: Last week in court a gentleman from the big city showed up. Seems he was cited for violating the sanctity of our vehicular velocity statutes. After he was found guilty he informed the judge that since he (the defendant) is not a resident of our city, the judge did not have the authority to impose a fine on him. The judge attempted to enlighten him, but he kept shutting the judge off. The judge finally instructed the bailiff to give this gentleman a quiet, private room where he could contemplate the error of telling off a judge. He then started in on the bailiff -- who used to work as a DOJ agent, and has doubtless forgotten more about civil rights than the defendant will ever know -- and was quickly shown where the rubber meets the road. Naturally, he was still protesting loudly when he arrived at his new accommodations.
Then a couple of days later one of the patrol units and I were enroute to lunch. he stopped a speeding vehicle a block from the restaurant, so I checked by with him. The car was occupied by two girls (18 & 20 YOA sisters, actually) from an affluent neighborhood, and the driver's license was suspended. She did not have insurance on the vehicle either. Her sister was unlicensed. Due to jail crowding the DA permits us to cite (DWLS/DWLI is a Class B misdemeanor) rather than arrest, and the officer informed her that he was going to release her with a citation. He told her that she needed to have a licensed driver there within ten minutes to drive the vehicle, or he would have to impound it. She told him that she had no one to come drive it, and that he was NOT going to impound her vehicle. She got on her phone screaming at someone about the cops illegally seizing her car. The officer finally tells her that if she doesn't exit the vehicle immediately (the wrecker has finally arrived) that he will arrest her. Naturally, she ignores him. He drags her out and cuffs her. Now little sister says he can't do that because she has no way to get anywhere, and demands to know where to go. (Anywhere you want, young lady. Better get started....) Then at female booking it turns out that the driver is the poster child for body piercings; she has them in all sorts of special places...... She refuses to remove them and proclaims -- loudly -- that those piercings are her "individuality" and that the jail does not have the right to remove her "individuality".
This is the mentality of the people y'all are referring to, and your community deals with people like that every day. Thanks to much of the media, some of our elected officials, and some of our educators, these people are encouraged to exercise their rights at every opportunity.
