Happened to us a few years ago in Arlington. Rock came almost all the way through right in front of the wife's face. I kept going.

Happened to me about 30 years ago. I was coming home from work and 3 kids dropped a rock off the over pass. I was on my bike. I saw them from a distance up there so I was watching them and was able to swerve out of the way. I got off at the next exit and was heading back to confront them when I saw a police officer. Told what happened and he went back with me. They were still there dropping rocks. The officer arrested them. Lucky no one was hurt.

There's another OTer here that had that happen to him. Surprised he hasn't chimed in.

They are everywhere. Texters far outnumber rock chunkers.

Following a truck hauling scrap steel. Had a piece fall off and hit right above the windshield. Also had a truck up ahead drop a load of square hay bales in the interstate. Those things explode when you hit them at 70 MPH.

I was just about to post about this.

How many ladders do you see on the highways in DFW? I'm not from there and I've seen more than I want too.

All the time. Had a guy I worked with years ago had a truck loose a garage door panel off a ladder rack, the panel hit flat across and covered his windshield.

Wife was driving home from work a few years ago and the truck in front of her ran over a lawnmower blade in the road which flew up and penetrated her plastic front bumper. Son is driving that 2003 Camry to school now with the hole right above the license plate. I shudder to think what could have been.

Happened to my wife about 25 years ago, she had our son and two of his friends in the car. AS they were going under the RR over pass on 79 on east side of Taylor, a rock hit the rear window. She stopped and they saw two kids running from the over pass. Luckily no one was hurt. Last year they finally caught the rock thrower in Austin. He was a tow truck driver that seemed to always be first to the scene when a tow was needed.

There was a serial rock thrower on I35 in Austin. Injured a few.
