trailer license plates/inspection questions

Hello forum, I need some advice on what all I need to get trailer plates and I know I should get it inspected but I'm not sure where, just looking for straight forward answers. thanks a lot guys.

Are you sure you need it inspected. They changed the law on that and upped it to 7500 lbs I believe.

Are you sure you need it inspected. They changed the law on that and upped it to 7500 lbs I believe. That's correct. Gov Abbott signed it into law in June of this year.

Are you sure you need it inspected. They changed the law on that and upped it to 7500 lbs I believe. Any trailer or vehicle transferring for out of state has to be inspected. If not from out state then you should not need it. Inspection is pretty much a joke. They did not even test my brakes or look at them. Having a nice looking aluminum trailer and not some rusted piece of junk probably made it easier.

my trailer came from out of state.. just a few months ago.
title office (tpwd) said no inspection needed. it's below the required weight carrying specs.
