Hello forum, I need some advice on what all I need to get trailer plates and I know I should get it inspected but I'm not sure where, just looking for straight forward answers. thanks a lot guys.

Are you sure you need it inspected. They changed the law on that and upped it to 7500 lbs I believe.

That's correct. Gov Abbott signed it into law in June of this year.

Any trailer or vehicle transferring for out of state has to be inspected. If not from out state then you should not need it. Inspection is pretty much a joke. They did not even test my brakes or look at them. Having a nice looking aluminum trailer and not some rusted piece of junk probably made it easier.

my trailer came from out of state.. just a few months ago.

title office (tpwd) said no inspection needed. it's below the required weight carrying specs.
