Neither!! For a 1911 in that $$ range I'd get a Dan Wesson or a SA RO Elite.... Kimber QC has become trash and the Sig is not really a true 1911... I've fired and disassembled all four recently Interesting, I'm looking for another carry..

Springfield Armory EMP .40 cal. sweetest shooting 1911 I have ever owned, while not an.45 it still packs a pretty good punch and the quality is way better than any of the kimbers I have owned,I prefer it over my colt.

I vote for Sig. Kimber is not close to the same quality they were 10-15 years ago. We sent back lots of Kimbers. They are rustomatics too.

Maybe I got lucky, but I'll keep my Kimber, thank you very much! But you get right down to it, my Les Baer smokes anything I have shot to date... That is, if I had any guns...

I am a FFL. I buy and sell a variety of 1911s. You need to be more specific the individual models. Both Sig and Kimber are very good. I carry a Kimber Ultra CDP II daily and really like it.
There really isn't an answer for which company. It comes down to which model you like and why.

For what it's worth, my 1911 is a Para Ordnance P14 alloy frame, built in 1994 (yeah, I got one of the old ones). Fully loaded it doesn't weigh significantly more than my Beretta PX4 storm, but it's harder to conceal in daily school clothing.

Kimbers are better than Sigs. I have both wouldn't want someone shooting at me with either. LOL I like both. I guess if I had to chose one it would be the SIG but it is real close
