A couple reasons I think the weight is legitimate. That's a BIG man.
The angler's hand is closer to the camera than the fishes head. Her body appears to lean away from the lens due to angle.
The angle from which the photo was taken, looking down on the angler, makes the fish appear much shorter than it is.
Look at the mass between her tail and soft dorsal/anal fins. Look at her eyes. Golf balls on top of her head.
Sub DD fish just don't possess all of those characteristics. Especially on a public lake and Lewisville, to boot!
To the guide, you had the scales in the boat and saw what they read. Your post saying "around 13 lbs." causes confusion. What did you observe the scales to read?
Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

If you look at the tail, it is even with his leg and extends up to his shoulder, I measured on me and that is dang near 30 inches, that's a huge fish and I see it going 13 pretty easy. Congrats to the angler.

Wes, I'd love to hear the story behind this fish. Bet there was some hollering when y'all saw green.

TAKE A PHOTO HOME NOT THE FISH. CATCH AND RELEASE Set the hook first and ask questions later.

Congrats to the angler. 30 "? That fish could be a new state record. The current state record only measured 25 1/2 " and it weighed 18.18 lbs. WOW. Just wondering, what kind of lure he caught the fish on. The current state record was caught on a minnow.

The poor catfish at the bottom of the well doesn't even get a mention. Lets organize a protest to have his cooler removed from his boat because hes a specist
