I thought it was excellent. I spent two tours in VN and this showed information/history that I was unaware of.
What is really needed NOW is the same type of documentary on North Korea. That is information that every American should be aware of.

actual it a 10 parts series, it is airing Sunday - Thursday this week and Sunday - Thursday next week.

Burns has done some outstanding work on previous docs. I'm going to record it and I'll reserve judgement until I see the entire series. I hear you. I believe it's an 18 hour show that hasn't been released yet. How can people know what is in there already? I would love to hear feedback from those that were there once they have watched the show. That would be interesting to me.

Having served in French Indo China, I truthfully can not buy his totally leftest approach to that area during those troubled times,I had expected a much more truthful series.

Definitely a leftist point of view. Making Ho Chi Minh out to be a hero, which he was not. Overplaying atrocities committed by the South and underplaying the atrocities committed by the commies. The producers pick and choose statements made by politicos about not being able to win the war. Totally untrue. For those that were there they have pointed out you were Patriots. Kids who went to war. Thank You. The first episode taught me a bunch of things I never knew. Burns normally doesn't lie... he seems straight down the line of History. Even if it is painful. If he does lie... point it out. I feel guilty watching compared to what the kids that fought it went through. I was born in '62. Looks like they have a large number of people who were on the ground from both sides.

Last night was good but did jump around on the dates a lot Ross Perot threw in a bunch of money. I am guessing he doesn't support lies. And is a patriot. Always supported and hired veterans. Including the South Vietnamese. I worked with a bunch of them in the 80's.
