you can ruin your system by adding a little to much or not enough. You need to correct tools and gauges. The little 10 can at vatozone can cost you hundreds more. The ac system is to easy to screw up . Take to some one that knows what they are doing. a/c pro has a gage.

Check to see if the clutch is engaging. Look under the hood and find the belt. Have someone sit in the drivers seat and turn the AC on and off, on and off, etc. One of the pulleys should move in and out slightly and you'll here a click when it engages. If it's not moving then it's most likely the compressor relay is bad. $15 part an autozone.
If the AC stopped overnight then I'd say this is your best bet. If it's going out over time it's probably refrigerant. Good advice. Had that happen to me once on a Toyota. It was blowing hot, but was full of freon. Did a google search which pointed me to the relay=Voila! Also, the horn relay and clutch relay were the same, only difference was a clutch relay was $60 and the horn relay was $12, exact same relay!

That price is not bad for a shop. If you can DIY the parts on Rock Auto are less expensive.

That price sounds about right to me Rudy but you might call around a few places to be sure.

They will hit you with a condenser also, you can't flush the newer ones. No more than 180.00 more.
Trust your own instinct. Your mistakes might as well be your own, instead of someone elses.

The wifeys 09 Jeep Liberty started blowing hot and this afternoon went to Autozone and recharged the system. Per the gauge it checked low and once I was done it was blowing cold again.
The question now is will this hold up and/or how long will it last. With it being an 09 I suspect a leak for my 02 Chevy Truck is still going strong. I'm no stranger to Automotive and AC for I had to replace a compressor on a 99 Maxima because the repair shop gave me a very high estimate and I did it myself.
So I spent $38 on this and I'm waiting to see what will happen.
Easy process. Engine on and AC at max. The compressor has to be running. Dial the gauge to the ambient temp and plug into the low pressure side which is the larger diameter tube. There will be a V on the guage and if the needle is low then it is okay to charge. Pull the trigger and release ever so often to check the charge pressure. So if after a month your blowing hot again then you might have to go deeper into it....
Good luck.

[/color]We have a 2009 Honda CRV that recently quit blowing cold air .I'm looking for an easy solution. From my limited knowledge that usually indicates the system needs to be charged and looking for feedback pro/con on these D.I.Y.kits, like A/C Pro Refrigerant . I do have a back up plan that involves a professional ,should it come to that.
[color:#33CC00]TFF OT always has opinions, let me have ittook the car in to a reputable repair shop, diagnosis was Compressor, dryer, orfice tube/expansion valve needs to be replaced, need to evacuate and recharge system parts and labor including tax $1263.50 The Honda CRVs Problematic AC Compressor: Black Death http://www.ebay.com/gds/The-Honda-CRV-s-...18634628/g.html

Bet you a donut a $29 can of freon gets it going again. In Walmart on Saturday afternoon, they had one whole endcap of the auto stuff isle with cans of R134 for $4.88 ea. I picked one up to look at and thought, Wow, I remember when you had to have a license to buy R12 and R22. I serviced my own vehicles for decades when the systems were R12.
