What size weight do most of y'all flip with when fishing brush/trees?

I always find myself using fairly light weights between 1/8-1/4 oz. I sometimes wonder if I miss bites because my bait doesn't always hit the bottom while flipping salt cedars and other trees.

Primarily 3/8 and 1/2 oz. depending on how thick the brush is and how deep it is. And I always peg my weight with a bobber stop when fishing heavy brush.

Looks like I use a lighter weight than most.

Is rate of fall not a big deal for most of you?

When I used to night fish all summer, I threw nothing but a 1/8 oz. weight on my worms. But I wasn't fishing in the super thick stuff. Light weights hang up easier in heavy cover. Plus, they may never get through all that stuff to the bottom. And yes, I'm sure you're missing bites by not getting all the way to the base of those salt cedars.

3/8 -1 oz. Never less than 3/8.

^^^Usually this. But if the wind picks up, I'll go a little heavier for accuracy and distance.

1/4-3/4oz for me.

3/8 oz. pitching the streamline baits like: Lizards - Senkos - Ring Fries and etc..

1/2 oz. pitching the bulkier baits like: Brush Hogs, Craws and Creature Baits.

Like 5/8ths a lot... especially if 4 foot or more. But will keep dropping until i get bites or as it shallows up

3/8 to 1/2....I'm a line watcher, so if your not sure if you got a bite or think your missing them you need to start watching your line. If your in 10ft and see your line stop and you should know your bait didn't fall that quick and hit bottom, you better be setting the hook.

1/4 - 1/2 ounce. The faster the fish want it to fall the heavier weight you use. And you always want to a weight that gets the bait to the bottom as most of your strikes happen on the fall.

Do y'all try different weights throughout the day or just kind of stick with one weight depending on the wind?

I tend to change weight based on how windy it is. If I can't throw a 3/16 ounce weight because it gets to windy I usually move to a 1/4. I guess Alan Henry has messed me up when it comes to flipping/pitching.

I've got plenty of 3/8-1/2 ounce tungstens but rarely use them. I'll try to up the weight in the brush a bit more.
