it might be time to change the color of the anchor light , maybe a brilliant yellow or a flor green or strobe. if that's the case the white ones blending with shore line lights. was thinking the same thing about the strobe light when parked.

The white light is almost wortless in an area like Conroe. I think the fact that it's so flat also plays a factor, everything is at eye level. I was just up in Tennessee fishing and noticed how much easier it is to see boats at night when there's terrain around. The area was way less inhabited but the lights that were around were elevated and not at the water level.
I did not know this but was told on another forum that having the lighted hand rails illuminated while running is illegal. Someone mentioned that law enforcement was writing tickets at one of the Conroe weeknight tournament weigh ins to everyone who had any lights illuminated other then the red/green/white. That included deck lighting and wrap around LED's. So, if true, it appears trying to make yourself more visible is illegal.

We had a close call last night... after reading about this yesterday I was extra cautious and it may have saved us. Had a boat with no rear light at all idling in the boat lane going away from me. Could not see it until the driver turned sideways and I caught a glimpse of the bow light. Had he not turned or would I have been hammer down it would not have ended well. The incident on Conroe should be an eye opener for all of us out there in the dark.

my boat is to the left in this photo, my close friends boat is to the right, if TP&W wants to give me tickets, so be it, their is not one person that can say we did not see that boat. we have full wrap around blue LED, some say that blue is for law enforcement and that is just fine with me because any other boat that has seen my boat stay's clear of it.

here's a concept - if you can't see very well, SLOW DOWN.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but LED lighting is fine as long as you are not moving like in your picture. Several manufacturers are actually including deck lighting now.

Sadly, Jason's wife Sara died this afternoon at Conroe Regional hospital. Terrible news, makes a very bad situation even worse. Prayers to everyone involved, can't imagine what the little girl must be going through. Did they have other kids also or just the daughter?

That's a very heartbreaking update. Please pray for both families but particularly that little girl. I can't imagine.

Yes, also a son who just graduated from Magnolia West High School.

Prayers up for the family and the little girl. She must be one heck of a sharp kid having the snap to call 911 and be able to direct the police to them after what she went through.
