I caught one on a Strike King spinnerbait when I was 10. I didn't let him keep the bait, though.

I caught one Monday at Lake Fork (Birch Creek), skipping a frog on top of the matted cover. Saw the spash, set the hook, and it was on! When I realized what I had I tried to get it close enough to the boat to cut the line but just couldn't turn it. He drug me almost all the way to shore before the hook finally came out. Ended up getting a couple of pictures after everything settled down. I guess it to be about 4-4 1/2 ft and 25-30 lbs.

That is cool but you should have removed the hooks. Grab him behind his head and get them out. Hope the little dude ends up being ok.
Anyway I look at it, its still a tight catch and it is something that I may never catch unless I get real lucky! How does baby aligator taste?? COOL!!!

You would be suprised at how fast that hook will rust out.

That's cool. I've had them come up and snap at my lure before, but never caught one. Mommy is never too far away either. You got to be careful with her around!

Ineptocracy (in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Removing the hook took the backseat to the mommy coming to eat my arse you know?
