The fish can tell that your trying to be cheap....they won't bite unless you use tungsten. They won't bite tungsten that you bought on sale either. They only want full price stuff

I am not sure if it makes a difference on catching fish. The reason for the weight is to stir up the bottom so fish will come over and investigate. That is when the bait comes thought and you hope the fish bite the bait. The larger lead should stir up the bottom better. The tungsten should make a louder sound and as usually have a better feel of the bottom. I am using the weight to stir up the bottom more then anything so I will stay with the lead barrel weights.

Yes, it makes a difference. It's all in your head. Trust me....I use tungsten too. I like the feel of the weight, but in no way does it make a difference in the bite. The fish don't care, but I do. I like the solid ticks it makes on cover.

Steez, ask Kelly Jordon if he thinks it makes a difference. I kicked his arse on Fork throwing tungsten on a c-rig when it first came out. He was throwing lead. Both of us throwing same bait, same oz. weight, same tank dam. I was catching three to his one. He switched over to tungsten and started catching. Now I'm sure no pro but that day made a believer out of me. And KJ.

Fouzman I am not doubting this in any way but have you tried this again with Kelly or anyone else to see if it was just you being in the right spot or if it really was the tungsten. I have had a few days were my buddy just kick my butt while fishing the same baits and just the other way around were I caught more fish.

I used to throw 3/4 or 1oz lead
now I throw 1/2oz tungsten
I can get away with a much smaller weight because of the density, easier to cast long distance in my opinion

right on yessir or ma'am I know they have em. I posted the other day about where to buy them in bulk and was wondering where everyone gets theirs so maybe I can gain a few more sources..
Again sorry to highjack the post
I like the length and the overall size of the lead barrels, and they fish way better imo..

I don't use the weight to kick up mud, I use it to keep my plastic near the bottom in deep water and high winds. I'll take the tungsten
