It's still a good solid lake. I've caught numbers, not size. Not crowded at all usually. 'Course, 6 boats would be a crowd on that lake. You can catch 'em about any way you want most times of the year.

My favorite place to go to get away from the crowd so to speak. I mainly crappie fish when I go but I have seen and caught some nice bass. This place should only get better in the next couple of years as they have been lucky and got some nice rain the last year and the lake is full. They just got another flood in the last week or so and it's running over the spillway again.

I have been tempted to run over and fish it from my kayak, so I called the PD there to find out if I had to pay the small launching fee. No fee for kayaks, she said, but there is a small fee for a permit for boats as I recall.
Someone "in the know" might want to post the info. I don't know if the little lake is patrolled or not, or if they'd ticket someone without the permit.
The launch fee almost seems silly to me for such a small lake with the sort of daily boat volume it likely has.

I am intrigued because the lake record is a 16+lb bass. Granted it was in the 90's, but still makes me excited

When I was there about a year ago you did have to stop at the police station and get the permit. I think it was like $3 but remember it wasn't much.

They don't charge any fee's and never have, no lake patrol but game warden's are always around. Actually there is a launch fee for boats - however you need to stop by the PD and pay it or you will get a ticket. $3 for a day or $25 for the year. It's a good lake but it fluctuates drastically in how it fishes - and plus its small so any kind of fishing pressure shuts it down quickly. Being that there is very limited (read almost none) timber or brush and very little grass (City killed it off years back - but it is slowly coming back) it can fish tough if you can't get on a pattern. It gets very crowded on the weekends. If you can go M-F in the early morning you may have the lake all to yourself. I fish it usually once a week since it's close to home. Won't go into specifics but have caught some quality fish the past few weeks. It is a good little Crappie lake as well. Some very good sized fish of all species in it.

Mill Creek is one of my favorite lakes! Haven't been in a while, but I'll be out there Saturday morning for a few hours! Hope to catch at least a couple of bass!

This very website you're on right now had a lot to do with the demise of little Mill Creek....Loose lips sank that ship. RIP Mill Creek.
