Kroger has good steaks. I've never been disappointed. Save that butter for pancakes!!

Albertsons owns Tom Thumb/Randall so it's all probably the same meat.
Central Market or Costco has pretty good cuts of meat.

Buy the steak of your choice 1 1/4" to 1 1/2". I prefer rib eye of ny strip. Season steaks to your liking, get fire rolling good (around 400 + or so), put steaks directly on the flames, shut lid for 5 mins then turn and shut lid for another 5. Boom Med rare steaks. Adjust time 30 seconds or so one way or the other for more rare or well.

I see a common denominator here, thin for the well dones and butter. Thanks all.

Prime cooked beyond medium rare is a waste of money.

Flat Iron or Hanger Steak is what I buy for my wife bc she likes it cooked well. It's a cheap cut but is really good flavor even cooked past medium. There is some connective tissue on the bottom of the cut that you should remove before grilling. For myself, I am a fan of the NY strip. I buy exclusively at HEB as the one by my house has great meats. For something special ill go to a local meat market and check out what they have.

So far I have been leaning to NY Strip, thin for the ladies, and ribeyes for the gents. And the butter. Thanks
