If you're not marking fish...you're wasting your time....

All the time. The instant pic of the electronics AND the field of view does not show EVERYTHING. They might be outside of the cone of the sonar or they might move up as you fish. Use electronics to find the structure and position yourself correctly. If there are fish there then that is even better. HOWEVER, they are not always BASS.

Side image it and down scan. Not there, then move on.

Yes, absolutely yes. Those electronics aren't 100% foolproof 100% of the time and bass are really good at hiding. I like to spend more time fishing than jacking with those electronics. Some people just like to play with their $4000 20" SuperHD HDS 195XSP Sidescan Downscan GPS equipped fishfinder all day long. I like to play with that rod and reel all day long. To each their own.

I'm no expert. Mostly use the graph for temp, depth and structure. If I see anything fishy looking I'm chunking a bait

This made me LOL!

To the original poster, yes, typically though, most of the structure i fish has a brush pile or multiple brush piles close by, so i don't typically look for fish.

There are spots were singles roam. Meaning I only catch one, I always stop and fish those.

The joke on people is that they are fishing bait. I fish a lot of bait combined with structure and/or cover. If I have 2 of the 3, I've tended to catch fish more often than not, if I chunk enough. If it's a spot that usually has all three, I bet I've caught fish more times than not. Although lately I've become death on gaspergous. Or, tambors. Or, we Okies just call 'em drum. Do those count?
