If I've caught fish in the area before and know that spot replenishes then I won't hesitate to stop and fish it even if I don't see any fish on my graph.

structure with no bait or anything - no way. structure with bait - yes. Structure with cover - absolutely, all the time.

Depends on how it looks. Some things just look to fishy to pass up. BUT, the more I learned to trust my electronics and learned to read them, the less I stop if I don't see fish. They don't lie

Are you tournament fishing and looking for some quick numbers? Or Sunday morning fishing and can spend some time hanging out on a fishy looking spot waiting for it to turn on? Keith Combs said if he's cruising over good looking structure and not seeing fish, he's moving on. You can always circle back later to see if they've moved into the area.

So, i use my graph to find high potential spots using the criteria above, and get a lure down there. Its been my experience you will know pretty quickly if they're there, i will give a spot a few casts then move on if i don't get bit.

I dont have any high dollar electronics so seeing fish on the graph is just a bonus for me. When fishing in less than 10 ft the picture you get is pretty small with traditional sonar and downscan. Structure with good cover is just hard not to check. I've caught more fish without seeing them than I have when they were marked on the graph by just fishing structure with good cover.

If it looks good to me I always fish it to check if anyone is home. Seeing fish is a bonus. being able to make out what kind it is good too.

I can't tell you how many times I have pulled hogs off of deep cover when I wasn't marking fish on it, if there is bait near buy I fish the cover.

If I find good looking structure I will mark it.If I'm catching fish already I'll come back to it.Whether theres fish on the structure or not I will fish it at some point. I've fished good looking structure with fish on it before and not caught anything, I've also caught fish off of structure that I wasn't marking fish on.

Yes and I hate myself for it but I'm convinced that someday that rock will turn into a big fish.
Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.
