Posted this in the DIY section not thinking this may be a better place to post it. Looking to make some jug lines this evening with PVC and pool noodles. Anybody have a design they like, such as certain lengths? Also, anyone use the rebar inside the PVC method or do you like no weight in the PVC? Planning on using the nylon trotline as the main line with leaders coming off it using 50 LB mono. Thanks in advance.

Thanks - have you found that your jugs get triggered by wake hitting them? That's been my main concern with putting a weight in the PVC

Yes, if a big wake comes through it will slide the weight. That part of the design is only good if you put them in somewhat calm water with minimal boat traffic. Thats just part of it. Still nice to have when you can use it.

Figured as much on wake triggering it, place where I fish has a lot of boat traffic so I'll just skip that step. Thanks, now just need to figure out an easy way to tie excess line up quickly so the jugs are adjustable

I use nylon with 100 lb. Mono with speed/trotline clips. Have both weighted and unweighted. 2ft.of pvc pipe and adjust as needed with the noodles and white duct tape. Heavy waves, windy days and live bait=no ballast in the tubes. They are fun! Dont put out more than u want to chase down in the rivers and/or waters with larger average cats as you will be quite busy when th e bite is on

I added a trotline clip on the eye with the mainline so I could adjust the depth. Works good.
