Since the law is changing on Sept. 1st, I am finally able to use the monster noodle for my noodle juglines without paying an arm and a leg for the hard to find white noodles (I never found white ones in the "Monster" size), and I know I could have done this the whole time and wrapped them with white duct tape but the tape starts to slide over time and they get all sticky. And to be honest, duct tape aint cheap either. This morning CCBIRDDOGWOMAN wen't to her sisters so I decided to stay in & build my new juglines and do a D.I.Y. thread on how to build them, so here goes: (this will probably have to be 2-3 posts, so bear with me.

In this "How to" I am making four Juglines.
What you need:
1- "Monster" pool noodle (any color but orange in Texas beginning Sept 1st 2014) Cut into 13 3/4" sections (4 equal sections)
4- 24" pieces of 1" schedule 40 PVC
8- 1" PVC caps
4- 1/4" x 2" Stainless Steel Eye bolts
8- 1/4 Stainless Steel nuts (eye bolts come with 1 each, you need 3 each - or you could just get lock nuts too)
8- 1/4" Stainless Steel washers
8- Cut pieces from an old pool noodle (or foam from some other source)
4- Weights (4 - 4 1/2 oz each) for inside pvc (I use lead but you can use rebar)
Regular Gorilla glue
Gorilla Glue 5 minute Epoxy
Here are all the materials (except lead & cut pieces of old noodle)

I started with sliding the Pool noodle over the PVC (it is a tight fit which is great, you dont have to glue them like the smaller noodle with 1/2" pvc)

Then I glued the end caps on with Gorilla Glue 5 minute epoxy and stuffed a piece of the cut up old noodle all the way to the end (this serves as a cushion so when the weight slides back and forth, it won't knock the end caps off) I use an old arrow shaft to get it pushed all the way to the end.

Next I drill my other four caps with 1/4" drillbit and install the eyebolts using a nut screwed all the way down, then a washer, put it through the PVC cap from the outside and put a washer & nut on the inside, then a second nut tightened against that one (this is where you could just use a lock nut but as you'll notice I use the regular Gorilla glue as a thread lock)

All you have to do now is slide in a 4 - 4 1/2 oz weight, another piece of the cut old noodle and glue the end caps with eye bolts on.

You can do lines however you want but I like to make mine with green 330 pound test main line and black 110 pound test leaders with stainless trotline clips, 1/0 swivels (would like to find some bigger swivels) and 8/0 circle hooks. I get my lead from demo'd xray rooms when we do remodels on them so you will have to come up with your own idea for your weight, alot of people use railroad spikes. What would be nice, is if you could get some heavy duty rubber bands to strap the spkikes to the noodle jug when in storage. One more thing, I don't like any gap in my eye bolts so I use some of the Gorilla glue 5 minute epoxy to fill the gap (2nd picture)

The lead is from lead lined sheetrock that has been demo'd from x ray room remodels. I cut it to the size / weight that I need an roll it with pliers.

For jug line weights, I bought a mold at Bed Bath and Beyond for making donuts. I melt lead and pour in the mold and add a big swivel. I ream out the middle a little and the weight will fit on the PVC for storage.

Good post. Your first step for assembly should be to put the piece of noodle inside the PVC before you put the first cap on it. Keeps you from having to use the arrow to stuff it to the other end.

This was a very informative thread with simple instructions anybody should be able to follow.
