Has anyone done the compass calibration on theirs? I did it on mine because MG was on the phone and told me to. I never needed to do it before. I just had to calibrate it to the bow of the boat so I could jog it in the direction that I wanted.

The Liftsaver is well worth the money, I got one from Blue Nitro and really glad I did, great product!

Just got back from Murvaul. Wind was a big deal and we couldn't fish everywhere we wanted to so with being on an unfamiliar lake and the weather our results were less than what we wanted. But that'e fishing. The new MG TM worked great, love the anchor ability. Even in the wind and waves we stayed right on point. Had a little trouble getting the compass set but it was because the first place I tried to set it I couldn't hold a GPS signal. Once I got a steady signal got it set up easily. I have a Hummingbird Helix 7 on the front so couldn't use all the features. Guess I am going to have to replace the Helix with a Lorance. I never have liked the 7 much anyway. Have a Helix 9 on the console and really like it. Guess I am going to have to get with David and see what I need to do to get everything set up. Going to be traveling for a month though so have time. BTW I had one of the guys in the group watch the launch and landing and he said with my boat and trailer the overhang is no problem.
Love the thump.

I looked at this but the thought of removing and stowing it every time I moved gave me chills!!! This is my setup. I got so tired of interference I went to this!

I put a separate transducer mount on my boat and still had a little interference. Slade Daugherty recommended that I run a ground wire from the negative post of my TM battery to my main boat motor. Interference is gone!
Love the thump.

I was advised that due to trolling motor being 24 volt system I could not run ground to 12 volt starter/sonar battery.

RODS is serious about finding them crappie. I bet he can even see them making whoopee if he cared to peek in on them. That is an awesome set-up Jim. We need to fish sometime soon. I also like seeing the LiftSaver with the broken side plate showing what can happen without the LiftSaver.

The Liftsaver is well worth the money, I got one from Blue Nitro and really glad I did, great product! Thank you for the kind words. There are quite a few being used in Oklahoma and I have gotten a lot of positive feedback from you 'Northern' guys.

Ron, funny thing about that broken side plate, I've got the piece setting on my end table, waiting to be glued back in place. Been there for about a year. I keep forgetting about it until someone, "you", mentions it.

"For 24‑volt and 36‑volt trolling motors, a common ground () connection cannot be established with the 12‑volt electrical system in the boat due to the different circuit voltages. As a general rule to reduce interference with other electronics on your boat, route all battery wiring away from other boat wiring (opposite side of the boat if possible), keep the battery cable length as short as possible, and always use battery cables of the appropriate size (gauge)."
WOW! This statement contradicts what the other manuals say. I'm wondering if this is exclusively for xi5? The xi5 statement says it "CAN'T" be established, and the other clearly showing how to do it, and that it should be done. I sure would like to hear MG explain this.

I run my front fish finder off of one trolling battery and my front and middle night fishing lights off the other.
