Abu Garcia 1500c was my first baitcaster, got it from my Dad on my 13th birthday in 1981. Still have it and it is still in great working order, although I don't use it. It sits on a display shelf along with a bunch of other great old reels.

It hung under the rod like a modern spinning reel, but was a closed-face model. Had to turn the handle backward 1/4 turn to cast and turn the front cover to adjust the drag. I caught a ton of fish with that reel. My first casting reel was an Ambassadeur 5000. PB: 10-01 on a Ribbit frog
