I could be wrong but I see allot of people confusing Texas rigging with how soft plastics are weedless rigged on the hook. From what I have been taught, a Texas rig is a hook with a weight on the line above the eye (pegged or not) that keeps the bait in contact the water bottom. Texas rigging has nothing to do with how the soft plastic is rigged to the hook. A Texas rig can be rigged weedless but it can not be rigged weightless. A weedless rigged soft plastic can be rigged weightless.

I have had most of my Senko catch's on a weedless Texas rig or a weightless weedless rig. I don't have much experience with wacky rigs or Carolina rigs, But I do hear that a weightless wacky rig catches allot of fish.

I slaugher them with this setup. Snelled hook, weightless, weed guard, and worm rattle. I don't like thin wire hooks or any hook smaller than that size there because 8+ pounders would bend them with ease when they run -- mostly because I don't like a loose drag setting.
