I mainly use pitching jigs and my favorites are Viper XP, Santone, and V&M. All three have a "stand up" type head so they don't fall over when on bottom. Most of the time with these jigs you will hook them in the roof of the mouth which is what you want with a jig. I mostly use a 3/8 and sometimes a 1/2. In the summer I use a 3/4oz in the summer for deep fish.

If you want colors you haven't seen before, or want to make your own custom color, check out the link in my signature below...I've had several double digit fish on these since 2015. Any weight/head combination you want, just tell them. Click on the "staff" tab, and add me to your cart if you want a discount.

I like the Eakins in the 5/16oz size for a finesse jig. I like like the head design of this bait as it rolls over cover very well. It comes with a god hook, plus this bait has been around for a long time. It comes in a 2 pack too, for only $4.99.

Revenge Flipping Jig

For a flipping jig I like the Revenge Flipping Jig. This bait has a flat bottom on the head which is great for skipping underneath cover, it comes with a stout hook, incredible paint job, and this bait is 100% made in the USA. I like the 1/2oz size best.

Dandy Football Jig

I like the Dandy football jig in the 1/2oz for most situations. If you're fishing in real deep water or it's windy, bump up to the 3/4oz size. This jig is just a good, quality jig with good components. It's inexpensive and they have quite a few colors to choose from.

Santone Chris McCall Rayburn Swim Jig

I like this swim jig in the 7/16oz size. This bait balances well with any swimbait trailer you put on the back, it has a good hook, good skirt colors, and it's made in Texas!

Yep those are my favorite jigs. Consider the finch nasty U-jig as well for an all around casting/skipping/swimming jig

Take a look at Finch Nasty Bait Company's website. www.finchnastybaitco.com They have a very unique jig called a U-Jig (U for Universal) The jig has "3" different line ties allowing one jig to be used for many applications. This jig is so different and new a patent is pending on it.

JigX is pretty nice aside from being a PITA to tie. Especially in a hurry

Where can I get some of these jigs locally? I'm very interested in trying some.

Really nowhere locally, you'd have to go to Fork, The minnow bucket, Lake Fork Marina, Lake Fork resort, LFT (limited selection) ,and Fishermans one stop all carry Talon. Other than driving to fork the fastest way to get them in your hands would be tackle warehouse. My office is in Grand Prairie, I'll be more than happy to bring you a few jigs if you'd like to meet up. Just shoot me a PM
