these are the prices I saw
The MSRP for the 9-10-12 (SI units) is 1099, 1599 and 2499.
about $100 more than what the gen 1 sold for

Did the other big announcement ever come out on the Gen 2 Helix? The only G2 models are the Helix 5 and 7 which got CHIRP Imaging as well as CHIRP 2D sonar. They have other enhancements too. The Helix 5 G2 was announced around the middle of October. The Helix 7 G2N has Ethernet networking, but not MEGA SI. The speculated "BIG" announcement was about the ONIX = nothing.

Mo Not totally for sure if discontinued but they have something new coming out in a month or so. Maybe a new onix

High frequency sonar, wasn't water clarity a problem depending
on how much plankton, thermocline, bait, stired up mud, prop wash etc.
As far as quality of picture.
If you have a crystal clear Lake, good structure and fish display.
Bad water clarity lake, not good.

Installed it Saturday, there are some glitches using the Standby setting in Normal and Simulator.

I want to be able to power on my Helix 7 at home while my boat is in my storage. I've ordered an extra power cord, but I really don't want to keep a full size 12 volt batter in my house. Are there other options for powering up my unit? A smaller lawnmower battery for instance or even plugging it into an electrical outlet?
Thanks for any and all input and suggestions.
