Llano was muddy so I tied a bunch of these for the Frio River, they liked the more natural colors Saturday. Fished two crossings on the paddle board. Not many people and the river was clear.

Pearow, it's funny you should mention white/black legs. When I pulled materials yesterday, I had to search for the two tone legs and the only version I could find was the Orange/black. I was putting everything away a few minutes ago and I discovered that I have several different color combinations leg materials. Although, I still don't know why I thought putting rubber legs and dubbing together in the same box was a good idea??? No wonder I couldn't find it yesterday...

Here's a different version of a foam hopper. Very similar tying process as the GFA pattern. Pink Pookie Hopper

Dollar General yellow puffer worm on #12 streamer hook, with 1/8"gold bead, small pearl chenille, and some black hackle. Hardest part was attaching the squirmy worm material to the hook and keeping it in line. I ran the hook thru the worm and then glued it down to the shank. I plan do a number of different color variations of this squirmy worm jig fly.

Nice, those ought to catch bluegill and crappie. I guess I'll be heading to Dollar General soon. Thanks for sharing.

Extra long squirmy wormy flies on a #6 hook. Hoping these will be more appealing to the bass. I think I may put together something for specs and flounder too. I need to test these out first and then implement improvements as needed.

Threading the "worm" on the hook straight is not fun. I've seen a couple of options for doing it. One is to heat your bodkin up and lay it on the worm to melt a groove into the plastic. Then put the hook in the groove and super glue it in place (wrap some thread around the hook shank and the glue will hold better.) Another option is to use an x-acto knife or razor blade to cut a shallow groove in the worm (be careful if you try this method.) Good looking flies.

I applied head cement to the hook shank on the first batch and that didn't hold the worm in place. I'm using super glue on top of a thread wrapped shank and that seems to hold the worm in place better. I haven't field tested these longer worms, but plan to use them to target largemouth bass. I like to tie, try and then modify.

I tie the same smaller version using the sili worms material. I put a layer of thread on feed the hook threw the center of the sili worm material for about a 1/4" depending on the hook size. Add a drop of superglue to the butt end of the thread and slide the worm material over the thread and superglue. Most end up with no tail before the thread and glue give out.
