Are y'all talking about the ponds west of the intersection of Preston & Legacy?
If so, how are y'all accessing White Rock Creek?

A few years back, the guys from Avid Golfer magazine launched at plantation gc in Plano at the headwaters and traveled all the way through Tennison gc portaging dams and spillways along the way. WRC is navitagable, but it's the parking lot and the bank that are issues at said location.

I was out there 2 weeks ago, and the police told me I had to pack up my kayak. Swat team staged up on the roof, and a helicopter was whirling.... ROFL Legacy ponds are NOT a city park. Sometime back in the history of Plano the creek was widened I'm guessing when they built the old YMCA, the hospital, legacy bank, and the building across. Then it was dammed twice resulting in 2 ponds. REGARDLESS it is not a Plano City Park, and therefor is beyond arguably, as mentioned before, a navigable water way. I don't even know why this topic is being brought up, I sneak out there every few months, this is from 2 weeks ago. As for parking, well there are multiple places to park, especially by the lower pond, just don't try to invade the spot with an open invite, and we shouldn't have any issues.

I used to fish this gem almost exclusively in my kayak, but somehow had the feeling that Plano Recreation and parks had stopped all fishing from kayaks boats and float tubes. I phoned Plano City Recreation and Parks today and it was flat out stated there is no boating, kayaking or swimming allowed in any Creek Pond or Lake in Plano. Float tubing is considered swimming. Yeah, I posted the park rules sign on this thread last year... Park Rules

If WRC is a navigable waterway in Dallas, it's a navigable waterway in Plano. It applies to the whole system.

I was just there this morning with two buddies. There were two other yakkers there when we showed up. Parked at the bank. No cops, no tow trucks ... Good morning other than the white caps pushing us across the water at Mach 2 even with the anchor out.
