Whatever it is, I am sure Fun-N-Sun will help with a resolution. They run a first class dealership. Get another experienced boater, maybe a Fun-N-Sun pro-staffer to go out with you and review the situation. They will help figure out what is going on.

Wasn't there a recent request by an esteemed Moderator to post to the appropriate forum?

Again, this is an equipment issue that has nothing to do with BASS FISHING that I can see.

Oh consistency, where art thou? Someone please help me to understand.

OldGringo,

This is posted in the correct form.

He is a Bass Fisherman, running a Bass Boat, and asking a BassBoat related question.

LKGFISHGBASS:

Is it possible your RPM Meter is not correct and you are pulling speed from a Speedo?

Only correct speed can come from a GPS, Speedo are very inaccurate.

Blake,

If I'm not mistaken, the HPDI shuts down a few of the cylinders at idle speed. If you checked the motor and it sounded ok it could still be bad on the plugs because those cylinders are not being used at idle. I'm not saying that this is your case, just something to remember.

Well you can speculate all day as to what the problem is.
Your prop is not the issue and going up in pitch will only make your problem worse because it will even lower your rpms.

The first thing you need to do is have the motor checked out. Check your compression for each cylinder to make sure you motor is operating correctly.
If the motor checks out, you probably have a linkage problem or hot foot that needs adjusting. Do not rev up your motor in neutral unless you want something to come apart, like a piston or a powerhead.
If all that checks out I would find out if the boat is retaining water for some reason like someone already suggested. It is possible for that to happen.

Take it back to where you bought the boat and let them check out the motor and the linkage. The boat should have been fully checked out before they sold it to you.

I've read this post with interest. AND I'm just outside looking in. When it gets down to the nutcuttin' 3 things need to happen IMHO.

1. Dealership that sold boat should send out their Top Mechanic on the water with you as owner driving to observe first hand the complaint.

2. Dealership should pay tow and boat gas for the run.

3. If operator error, owner should be reimbursed for expenses and time.

Just my .02
