Catching hybrids is not hard at all on 6lb line. Everyone that I have caught has been on 6 pound hi vis crappie line and my crappie rod. If you have your drag set right and there isn't anything for the fish to hang you up on, then you should have no problem. This has been my experience. Every hybrid I have caught was caught while white bass fishing. Set your drag correctly and play the fish. If there is no snags close by you should be good. Reggie

The construction workers at the gun range told me that monday they are removing the trees around where everyone parks then starting to build a shelf off that drop off towards creek for construction of the bridge next week. But they said a couple months before they start on the bridge. I hope the contruction of the shelf doesnt muddy the creek. Cant they wait until after the sand bass run? lol Dont they know its fishing season. Argghh

Rule of thumb is set your drag at half the force of your length strength. For 6 pound line, about 3lbs of drag. When in doubt, just loosen it

Argghh I don't think real construction that will affect the water will start till after the spawn run, unless they also decide to put a dam there. Here's all the details I could find: http://www.dallascounty.org/department/comcrt/district2/projects/garland.php#pleasantAnyone else have any info? If they start soon, we are screwed on the spawn run for some parts of RC....

RC is dead right now. Fishing from 7 to 10 am, not a single bite.

If you're at RC and Miller, I suggest you leave NOW if you see this. I saw a stringer some guy was keeping about eight 5-6 inch sandbass and the game warden has been called. Seeing [censored] like that makes me sick and anyone who does that has no right to be fishing at ALL!

The damage is done cause the fish were already dead and floating on the stringer. That's how I noticed them so easily, so he must have been down there for awhile catching undersized sandies. I could care less about the signs and trespassing thing while the construction crew is not there, that doesn't bother me but if the warden doesn't catch the guy - he might just be pissed enough to write trespassing tickets and I hate to see anyone ticketed for that. But I hope he does catch the guy and fine him into oblivion!
