I tried 4lb line this year and loved it! Then hooked on to the biggest hybrid I have ever hooked on to and it ran and ran then snapped my line. I will not use it again I warned you about that 4lb line my friend. After I landed that 7.6 pounder when we were out there I told you to go restring and get off that small line. I knew it was only a matter of time before you hooked into one of those monsters and he would break off. I'm glad you've upped it now so when we get into them it will be...FIGHT ON!

do we need another rain for female to show up or it's just not the time yet? 4lb mono leader on braid should be ok for WB. if you get broke off, then ditch the leader and use the braid straight for bigger fights. this way, you don't have to keep spooling back'n forth. just a thought and that's how i will setup mine. please share your thought if i need to spool entire line with 4lb for better chances of getting hit. i rather get bite and broke off than not getting any bite.

I typically start with 4 lb test early during the run because you typically only catch white bass early. I switch to 6 lb later in the season when the hybrids show up. The key is set your drag before you get to the creek. I your fiddling with during the fight your gonna lose that fish. The majority of hybrids are lost when people try to land them. They try and life them with their rod instead of lipping them or using a landing net. I lost two before I invested in a small telescopic landing net. Again the creek is deep and wide this year so you can throw previous years experience out the window. Reggie

If you are using line that light, you'll probably need a net if you aren't wading and can reach their lips. I just don't go under 6lb now.

Thanks for donating the hybrids for lake Ray Hubbard! but I don't think creek fishing will hurt the hybrid population due to the fact this is once a year thing for us bankers versus the guys on the boat catching year round, there's plently in the lake. Just helping control the population so that way TPW can restock later on. So quick question what's the difference between a stringer and a boat full of fish? I was told that we cannot combine fish on one stringer. So what about boat rules? They all go in the same cooler don't they?

I don't see a problem with putting 25 crappie, 25 sandbass and 5 hybrid on 1 stringer, other than it would weigh 200 lbs! Who told you this? Surely anyone significant like a game warden would know the species difference so I don't see why it would matter?

The future game wardens at the creek, for example a buddy and I had one stringer and we put ten hybrids on that one and only stringer, future GW said that was not allow, what's the difference between that and a boat full of fish? Seperate coolers?

Oops. My oppologies. The shopping cart is under construction. . You don't have to donate i was just posting this to let everyone know we have formed a group to re stock Hybrid like they do at Tawakoni. No the creek will not hurt the population but sometines there are mistakes made in identifying fish and the young ones don't make it. Also there is the survival rate that gets em too. . Any way you know about the RHSA and that is all i wanted to get out there Go and catch a hybrid and enjoy
