Thanks for the info, gents! I might give the waders and cleats a try, but I think I'll watch one of y'all do it first. popcorn

Water was a nasty milky green color by firewheel today, all the way to the Bike park, and clear at miller and pleasant valley.....very strange. Caught 8 sandies, 2 yellows, and 6 largemouth today, they're trickling in, we need heat and a rain.

Thanks to you as well KFJ. I don't have much experience on CR. I've always wanted to fish it, just never really have.

Mckinney is on the $$ we need heat and rain to sho! Heat in the forecast.. Rain? Huge logjams at my creek. Water is deciant color. Need some flow to reshape a couple logjams. catching lots of very small 6-9inch whites? Last years spawn? This year really has me doing more scouting in my neck of woods! Come on quick harmless flood!

Sounds like there are more sandies north of Miller than south. Scouted from Miller to NT10 off the west bank after fishing the east bank at NT10 first. Caught one male off east bank, then no more the rest of the day. Probably 40 or so people there when I walked out and only myself and one other guy had 1 sandy. Water clarity is the best I have seen it, but the water level is really high. NT12 and south is flooded to about 20 feet from the nature trail, you'd have to have waders to get to the main creek channel down there. The west bank is in great shape however, and easily traversed. Water level is up so high that a pontoon boat can get all the way to the first bend south of Miller, saw that today.

I was out there for a few hours today, maybe 1/4 mile North and South of Miller bridge. I didn't catch anything, but neither did a lot of people. I did see a couple of guys catching sandies, but I didn't see anybody with more than one. Discouraging day, to say the least. I think I'll take KFJ's advice and move up toward 66 bridge tomorrow. Also, Doug, what are NT10 and NT12?

The "NT" designations are the nature trail markers For the Rowlett Nature a Trail. You can see the area on Google Maps on the east side of the creek.

One of the problems is there is so much water in the creek that it fishes more like a river than a creek. In years past you could pick out pockets in the creek that would hold fish. Those pockets are now 6ft under water and the sandies can be anywhere. This year is gonna be alot different than years past. All of old spots are under several feet of water. Gonna have to learn the creek all over again this year.
