I was doing a little scouting earlier, and I noticed a couple schools swim by me. Problem was they were moving downstream and not up. I went back to my truck and got my thermometer and went back down to the creek. Today the water temperature was 53°. Six days ago if the water temperature was 47°. A lot of the bait has actually moved to the deeper pockets. They have moved out of the shallows. Now is the time that you'll definitely need polarized glasses and waders are beginning to be a must. And soccer cleats. Still no issues getting bait, but we need the temperatures drop so these fish migrate upstream down. A very cold rain with a small 2 foot flood what infest the creek with the big girls. 15 inch gizzards should show up soon.
